International payments to China
Ask your supplier for bank details in the invoice currency. CNY and USD payments can require different accounts and supporting documents.
Use the account for the invoice currency
Ask the supplier to identify the account that receives CNY or USD. A company may provide different details for each currency. The account number alone does not tell you which set to use.
Bank details to collect
Ask for the currency alongside the bank details. Keep the original details supplied by the recipient.
CNY bank payment
- Ask the supplier for
- CNY business account in mainland China, plus bank and company details requested in the form.
USD bank payment
- Ask the supplier for
- USD account, bank name, SWIFT/BIC, company address and invoice when required.
CNAPS and SWIFT details
For a CNY bank payment to mainland China, use the supplier’s CNY business account. A CNAPS code identifies a bank branch in China. Enter the details requested by the payment form.
For a USD payment, ask for the supplier’s USD account and SWIFT/BIC details. The account type and destination determine the available method and invoice requirements. Check availability before sending funds.
Documents for your records
Unigox shows the order and payment status in your account. Check which confirmation is available for the chosen payment method.
If your bank, accountant or customs broker needs a specific document, ask what they require before paying. A payment confirmation does not replace a commercial invoice.
Paying your supplier in USD?
If your supplier asks for USD, their bank account may be in mainland China, Hong Kong or Singapore. Choose the location shown in their bank details.
