Using the invoice amount
The supplier-payment form starts with the amount the recipient needs in CNY. If you have a spending limit in ZAR, compare it with the estimated payment cost before proceeding.
Compare payment costs in ZAR
For the same CNY amount received, compare the total cost in ZAR, including payment fees and any currency purchase. A reference exchange rate alone does not include all of those costs.
Payment questions
01Which currency should I enter?
Enter the amount in the currency shown on the supplier’s invoice. For this CNY calculation, use the yuan amount. Do not enter its ZAR equivalent as though it were yuan.
02Why can the payment cost more than the converted amount?
Converting CNY to ZAR at the reference rate estimates the invoice value. The payment total also depends on the provider’s exchange rate, fees and how you obtain the currency used to pay.
03Is this exchange rate fixed for my payment?
No. The displayed rate is a reference. Review the current amount, fees and any expiry shown on the payment screen before confirming.
